Springfield streets slated for late-August slurry-seal work and daily closures

Springfield residents should prepare for temporary street closures and parking restrictions when Lane County and the City of Springfield begin a planned slurry-seal project in late August.

Lane County says the pavement-preservation work is scheduled to continue through September 2026, with completion expected by October 1. As of Wednesday, August 5, the daily sequence remains tentative rather than a final block-by-block schedule.

What residents need to do

Lane County says “No Parking” signs and door hangers will be posted at least two days before scheduled road closures. Residents should move vehicles before the posted work period begins.

After the slurry seal is applied, treated streets must remain undisturbed for six to eight hours while the new surface cures. Vehicles left on the street in an active work area may be towed, according to the county’s project notice.

Four Springfield areas are identified

The project notice identifies streets in four Springfield areas: North Springfield, the Harbor Drive area, Seavey Loop and Douglas Gardens.

North Springfield streets and segments listed by the county include portions of 32nd, 33rd, 34th, 35th, 37th and 38th streets; Hayden Bridge Road; Montebello Avenue; Sue Ann Court; Valentine Court; Winslow Avenue; and Yolanda Avenue, along with several cul-de-sacs.

The Harbor Drive area list includes Harbor Drive, Inland Way, Kremont Avenue and Neptune Avenue, as well as several listed cul-de-sacs.

The Seavey Loop area list includes Blossom Street, Del Monte Avenue, Del Rio Street, El Camino Street, El Centro Avenue, El Manor Road and El Roble Avenue.

The Douglas Gardens list includes portions of 32nd Place South, 34th Place South, 37th Place South, 37th Street South, 38th Street South, 39th Street South and 40th Place South, along with Cherokee Drive, Clearwater Lane, Cole Way, Dixie Drive, Dondea Street, Douglas Drive, Duke Street, Harmon Lane, Kintzley Avenue, Laurel Avenue, Longridge Drive, North Street, Osage Street, Pinyon Street, Redwood Drive South and Richland Street.

The county’s street lists and area maps identify specific blocks and segments. The listings do not mean every street will be closed at the same time; active closures are expected to be posted by day.

Where to check the active schedule

Lane County said a tentative work schedule would be available online in early August. Once the project is active, daily road closures will be posted through TripCheck, Oregon’s official traveler-information service.

Residents, commuters, delivery drivers and visitors should check the current posting before parking or traveling through one of the four identified project areas. The broader work period is planned for late August through September, with completion expected by October 1, 2026.
