Beaufort County sets Okatie design review; US 21 corridor comments due Aug. 14
Beaufort County has set two near-term planning dates affecting Okatie: the Design Review Board is scheduled to meet Aug. 6 at Grace Coastal Church, while public comment on the county’s US 21 Corridor Study remains open through Aug. 14.
The Design Review Board meeting is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at Grace Coastal Church, 15 Williams Drive, Okatie, SC 29909, according to the county’s notice. The listing identifies Beaufort County Community Development as the contact.
What the design meeting does — and does not — show
The Aug. 6 listing confirms the meeting, but the approved materials do not provide the full project description or a final board action. That means the notice should not be read as confirmation that the board approved a development or design.
The meeting comes as the county separately identifies Okatie Village–River Oaks Phase II in a 2026 staff-review agenda. The conceptual Okatie Village project is described as a proposed 212-unit attached single-family residential development for rent. US 21 comments close Aug. 14
Beaufort County’s US 21 Corridor Study opened public comment July 6, 2026. The comment period closes Aug. 14, giving residents and businesses a defined deadline to submit input on a process that may help shape future transportation investment and traffic conditions in the corridor.

Other Okatie development context

Station 39 is not identified as open or operational in the approved materials.
