Western Sydney International began international passenger operations on Oct. 26, 2026, when Air New Zealand flight NZ165 arrived from Auckland. Its return flight, NZ166, departed for Auckland after a stopover. The airportโs first passenger operations began the day before, Oct. 25, with a Jetstar domestic flight to the Gold Coast. The airport, formally named Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton), is at Badgerys Creek in Western Sydney.
The Auckland route is scheduled for three weekly return services, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. That gives travelers a direct Western SydneyโAuckland option on those days, rather than a daily service. The prime ministerโs office said the inaugural return flight was full. The airport operates without a curfew.
Singapore Airlinesโ daily nonstop service is scheduled to begin Nov. 23, 2026. That planned route would offer a daily option, compared with Aucklandโs three weekly returns, but it has not yet started.
