Monroe schools will issue digital bus passes and may change stops for Williamstown students

Monroe Township Public Schools will stop mailing student bus passes for the 2026–27 school year. Families will find bus passes and stop information in the Genesis parent portal under the Transportation tab instead, so parents and guardians should check Genesis rather than wait for a pass to arrive by mail.

The district said the Transportation tab was expected to become available at the end of summer. It also warned that bus stops may change as part of route optimization and efficiency improvements. The district has not identified which specific stops will change or given an exact date for when each student’s route information will appear in Genesis.

The paperless-pass change does not apply to students attending St. Mary’s or Gloucester County Institute of Technology, commonly known as GCIT. Those students will continue receiving paper bus passes.

Monroe Township Public Schools is based at 128 Saybrook Ave. in Williamstown and includes Williamstown Middle School and Williamstown High School. The district says it serves more than 6,000 students across six schools. The announcement was posted Aug. 3, six days before Aug. 9, 2026.
