Oro Valley’s Path Forward plan moves toward November 2026 voter decision

Oro Valley is moving its adopted Path Forward community plan toward a November 2026 voter decision, beginning a public implementation and engagement phase scheduled to run from August through November.

The Oro Valley Town Council adopted the 10-year plan on May 6, 2026. Oro Valley voters are expected to decide in November whether to adopt or reject it, according to the OVPathForward site.

What the plan covers

The plan is intended to guide Oro Valley for the next decade. Its priorities include growth, infrastructure, public safety, fiscal responsibility and preservation.

Those subjects affect how the town approaches future development, maintains public infrastructure, sets public-safety priorities and weighs spending decisions. Preservation is also identified as a central priority, placing long-term community character alongside growth and service needs in the plan’s framework.

The decision will remain a proposal for voters until the November election. The town has not yet published final ballot wording or identified the exact November election date on the OVPathForward site. Projected costs, tax effects and project-by-project commitments are also not specified there.

Public phase begins in August

The August-through-November phase is expected to shape public understanding of the plan before voting. Residents will have an opportunity to learn more about the town’s priorities and consider whether the plan should guide Oro Valley for 10 years.

The Town of Oro Valley maintains official meeting and agenda records for the Town Council, advisory boards and committees. Those records include meeting notices, agendas, recordings and minutes. The town identifies Town Hall at 11000 N. La Cañada Drive in Oro Valley as the location for its government meetings and says residents may speak at public hearings after registering in advance.

That public-meeting process gives residents a formal way to follow discussions as the implementation phase approaches and to raise questions before the vote.

Election-year decision

The Path Forward vote will take place during an election year in which Oro Valley voters are also expected to choose a mayor and three Town Council members. Infrastructure, public safety, economic growth, fiscal responsibility and government transparency have been identified as election themes.

For residents, the November decision will determine whether the town’s 10-year community plan moves forward as adopted or is rejected. The period from August through November is therefore the key public window for understanding the plan’s stated priorities before voters make that choice.
