Wylie ISD registers $17.5 million career and agriculture center

Wylie Independent School District has registered a planned $17.5 million career and technical education and agriculture center at 1301 Hensley Lane, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation project record.

The project is listed as “WISD – Wylie ISD CTE and AG Center.” Its planned scope includes a 34,557-square-foot career and technical education building, a greenhouse and a rodeo arena. Wylie ISD is listed as the owner.

Construction schedule and cost

The registration lists construction dates from July 1, 2026, through July 1, 2027. Those are the project’s registered schedule dates and do not establish that construction has started or that the facility is complete.

The estimated cost is $17.5 million. The project record also indicates that the work involves public funds, public land or a federally funded roadway project, but it does not specify which of those designations applies.

Part of district construction activity

The center would add career-and-technical and agricultural education space to Wylie ISD’s facilities. The district has also said two additional Wylie campuses are scheduled to open in August 2026, reflecting continuing construction activity as the district expands services for a growing student population.
