Palm Beach County rejects proposed Jupiter Farms school

Palm Beach County commissioners voted 7-0 on July 14, 2026, to deny Calvary Chapel of Jupiter, Inc.’s request for a conditional-use approval to build an elementary and secondary school in the Jupiter Farms area.

The proposed school would have been located on an 18.588-acre property at the southeast corner of Indiantown Road and Rocky Pines Road. The applicant sought approval for a Class A Conditional Use, the land-use action identified for the proposal.

The county decision

The unanimous vote rejects the application in its current form. The decision concerns the proposed school use on the specific property and prevents that proposal from moving forward under the request considered by the county commission.

Palm Beach County’s Board of County Commissioners took the action after considering the application from Calvary Chapel of Jupiter. The vote was recorded as 7-0, with no commissioner opposing the denial.

Site and proposed use

The project was planned for the Jupiter Farms area, near the intersection of Indiantown Road and Rocky Pines Road. Its proposed facilities would have served both elementary and secondary students, according to the description of the request.

The 18.588-acre site and the requested Class A Conditional Use were central elements of the county’s land-use decision. The July 14 action therefore affects planning for a proposed school at a prominent Jupiter-area intersection while leaving the application denied as presented.

The decision does not establish that every future school proposal at the property is permanently prohibited. Any separate future land-use request would be a different application from the one commissioners denied.
