Tavares earns two America in Bloom awards; employee also honored
Tavares received two awards in the 2026 America in Bloom National Awards program, and city employee Traci Anderson received a third honor, according to WFTV. The city was recognized for environmental initiatives and a gateway at the western end of Main Street; Anderson received America in Bloomโs Cheerleader Award for her work supporting the program.
The city awards were the Environmental Initiatives Outstanding Achievement Award and the First Impressions: Gateways Award. WFTV reported that program advisors recognized Tavaresโs sustainability and watershed-protection efforts, including stormwater ponds, water meter replacements and community events focused on conservation.
The First Impressions award concerned a new gateway at the western end of Main Street. Together, the two city awards and Andersonโs individual award brought Tavaresโs total to three honors in the program.
Tavares has participated in America in Bloom since 2017, WFTV reported. Its article was published Oct. 9, 2026; that date is not identified as the date the awards were presented.
