Joliet Mayor Terry D’Arcy plans 2027 re-election bid
Joliet Mayor Terry D’Arcy says he intends to seek a second term in 2027. WJOL reported Oct. 13 that D’Arcy told the station he would run and had picked up election petition packets. Patch reported the next day that a Facebook post also signaled his reelection plans.
The announcement is an intention to run, not confirmation that D’Arcy has filed completed nomination papers or qualified for the ballot. Joliet at-large council member Joe Clement told Patch that obtaining petitions does not itself mean a candidate will complete the process or appear on the ballot.
The City of Joliet lists Nov. 16 through 23, 2026, as the petition filing period for the April 6, 2027, consolidated election. The mayor’s position is a four-year term. The filing period is the next scheduled step for candidates; election day is set for April 6.
