Flagstaff council selects Milazzo for vacant seat
The Flagstaff City Council selected Moses Milazzo on Oct. 16, 2026, to fill the seat vacated by Anthony Garciaโs resignation. The selection named the councilโs intended appointee, but did not complete the appointment or put Milazzo in office.
The City of Flagstaff scheduled the formal appointment and swearing-in for the councilโs Oct. 20 meeting at 3 p.m. local time. If appointed, Milazzo would serve the remainder of the term, which the city says runs through December 2028.
The city reported that 28 people applied for the vacancy and five finalists participated in public interviews before the council selected Milazzo. The Oct. 20 meeting is the next scheduled step in filling the seat.
