Wilmington police said Oct. 23, 2026, that they were reviewing the circumstances of an arrest following an encounter the previous afternoon that was shown in a social-media video. No review finding or outcome has been reported.
WECT described video showing an officer force Antwan Greene against a car and then to the ground during a physical struggle, while Greene resisted. Greene told WWAY he was trying to back away so the officer would not grab him. These are differing accounts of the encounter, not a conclusive finding about what happened.
What the accounts do and do not establish
WWAY also reported Greeneโs claims that he had a scar on his left hand and bruising on his neck and left side. The report did not independently verify those injuries or establish their cause.
WECT reported that an officer in the video said officers smelled marijuana. Greene and his cousin, Isiah Hill, denied smoking it, WWAY reported. The reported remark does not independently verify an odor or establish the departmentโs official reason for the initial interaction; WECT reported that WPD had not released that reason.
WECT attributed allegations that officers entered private property without a warrant and used unnecessary force to Greeneโs mother, Shiquanna Renee. Those allegations have not been presented as findings by WPD.
WPD cautioned that short social-media clips show only a small part of a situation and said it would provide information as it was able. The department has acknowledged a review, but the reporting establishes no outcome or specific deadline. WECT also reported that authorities had not confirmed the officersโ identities or whether formal charges had been filed against people shown in the video.
