A proposed rule that would bar data centers in every Clinton zoning district remains undecided after the Town Council postponed its public hearing.
County Brief reported that the public hearing on Ordinance 2026-19 was carried from Oct. 28 to the council meeting scheduled for Nov. 9. The Town of Clintonโs legal-notice page lists the ordinanceโs notice of introduction, dated Oct. 15. That notice came 13 days before the original hearing date; the continued hearing is 12 days after it.
Does this mean a ban is in effect? No. Carrying the hearing did not adopt the proposal, so the postponement itself created no data-center prohibition. As of Nov. 4, County Briefโs Nov. 2 account still listed the Nov. 9 hearing as scheduled; the councilโs eventual decision was not yet known.
