Four incumbents, two newcomers win Florence council seats
Four incumbents and two newcomers won Florenceโs six City Council seats in Kentuckyโs Nov. 3, 2026, general election, according to LINK nkyโs report on unofficial returns. Incumbents Diane Whalen, Angie Cable, Gary Winn and Lesley Chambers were reelected; newcomers Duane Froelicher and Shari Kilmer took the other two seats.
The reported totals were Whalen, 3,219; Cable, 3,053; Froelicher, 2,780; Winn, 2,615; Chambers, 2,601; and Kilmer, 2,475. Whalenโs total was 744 votes higher than Kilmerโs, the lowest among the six winners. Winn and Chambers had the closest pair of winning totals, separated by 14 votes.
That 14-vote difference is between two winners, not a seat margin against an unsuccessful candidate; the six winning totals alone do not establish that comparison. The Kentucky Secretary of Stateโs election tracker labels the results unofficial. Official certification remains the next step, and the reported lineup should be treated as preliminary until then.
