West Webster closure detours Route 23 outbound trips
West Webster Avenue in Winter Park is closed to through traffic between Denning Drive and Pennsylvania Avenue for roadway reconstruction. The City of Winter Park scheduled the closure from Monday, Nov. 2, through Friday, Nov. 20, 2026. WFTV reported on Nov. 3 that the road was closed.
Railroad Avenue, Carver Street and Capen Avenue are restricted to local traffic, not through traffic. Drivers should avoid using those streets to travel through the area as well as avoiding the Webster Avenue closure.
Resident parking and transportation
Residents on the affected Webster Avenue section will not have driveway access during construction, the city says. Temporary parking has been coordinated on Capen Avenue, Carver Street and Railroad Avenue.
A golf cart will be available daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to transport residents between their homes and vehicles, according to the city.
Route 23 detour is outbound only
Which Route 23 trips are affected? LYNX lists an outbound detour via New York Avenue, Morse Boulevard and Denning Drive from Nov. 2 through Nov. 20. Inbound trips remain on the regular route, so the detour applies to one direction, not both.
The city and LYNX list Nov. 20 as the scheduled end of the closure and detour. That is a schedule date, not confirmation that the road will reopen that day.
