Rossford plant plan gets a $2M roadwork request as OPmobility eyes 500+ jobs
Rossford OH – Ohio is seeking $2 million in roadwork money for an OPmobility plant plan tied to 500-plus jobs and Glenwood Road traffic pressure.
Rossford is in line for a major industrial buildout, but the nearest-to-home story is the roadwork that would support it. Ohio Department of Development materials ask the Controlling Board to release $2 million in Roadwork Development Grant money to the Wood County Port Authority in the City of Rossford for the OPmobility Exterior USA, LLC project. The request, scheduled for the June 8 Controlling Board meeting, says the work would build a roundabout on Glenwood Road at the southeast corner of the site and extend a road west from it. It is a request, not a final payout.
That matters because the project is not a small addition. JobsOhio says the new plant in Wood County will be OPmobility’s first Midwest facility focused on exterior solutions, with production planned for the second half of 2027 and more than 500 jobs expected across production, logistics, engineering, and support roles. The same JobsOhio release says the state Tax Credit Authority approved a tax credit, while remaining JobsOhio assistance will be disclosed after final agreement paperwork is executed.
Why Glenwood Road matters
Local reporting places the plant on Glenwood Road east of Penta Career Center, which gives Rossford residents a clearer picture of where the traffic and construction pressure may show up. A manufacturing site of this size can affect truck routes, commuter patterns, and nearby businesses long before the first vehicles roll off the line.
What is final and what is still pending
So far, the project is advancing on paper: the plant has been announced, the state tax credit has been approved, and the roadwork request has been filed. What is not settled in public is the Controlling Board action itself or the final incentives package. For Rossford, the next things to watch are the funding decision, final agreement paperwork, and any announced site-work schedule around Glenwood Road.
