At the Casey’s store on S Main Street, the regular pump line is showing $4.19/gal for Unleaded E 87. Diesel is higher, showing $5.49/gal for #2 Diesel. Because this is a single-station check, readers may still see different prices at nearby pumps.
AAA Illinois averages: down slightly vs. yesterday, still far above last year
Looking beyond one station, AAA’s Illinois averages show a modest pullback since yesterday (June 25, 2026). For regular, the Illinois average is $4.190/gal today versus $4.208/gal yesterday. For diesel, today’s Illinois average is $5.143/gal versus $5.176/gal yesterday.
The bigger story is how far prices remain above earlier baselines. Compared with last month, AAA shows regular at $4.925/gal a month ago versus $4.190/gal today, and diesel at $5.999/gal a month ago versus $5.143/gal today. Compared with last year, regular is up from $3.498/gal to $4.190/gal, and diesel is especially higher from $3.732/gal to $5.143/gal.
EIA national weekly trend: both regular and on-highway diesel down from last week
For national direction, the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s latest weekly retail estimates (release date June 23, 2026) show both fuels easing week-over-week. In the most recently listed week (06/22/26), regular gasoline is estimated at $3.914/gal and on-highway diesel at $5.147/gal. Those are below the prior week values on the same EIA table (06/15/26): $4.052/gal for regular and $5.305/gal for diesel.
So what for Farmington drivers and fleets
With diesel still running well above regular, the impact tends to hit hardest for anyone fueling for commuting mileage, deliveries, contractors, or service and farm fleets. Even when prices ease compared with yesterday, that bigger per-gallon diesel premium can swing the total cost of weekly fueling.
If you’re planning a tankful today, compare at more than one pump when you can—small differences add up quickly over a work week.
