Lamar regular gas stays under $5 as diesel prices spread
Lamar drivers can still find sub-$5 regular at several stops, but diesel runs from the high-$5s to the mid-$6s. Comparison shopping still pays.
That local price pocket is $4.646 for regular and $5.477 for diesel, and below the national AAA average of $4.507 for regular and $5.599 for diesel. The federal Energy Information Administration’s latest weekly fuel update, released May 19, also shows the broader market remains elevated, which is why local comparison shopping still matters.
The diesel spread is the part that stands out most. A driver who chooses one Lamar pump over another can avoid paying much more than necessary, and that difference adds up quickly for work trucks, service routes, farm equipment, and delivery schedules. For households and weekend travelers, the savings are smaller, but they still show up at the register.
If you are filling up around Lamar, it still pays to compare a couple of stations before you pull in. Share the highest and lowest pump prices you are seeing locally.
