Lancaster drivers: AAA Worcester gas eases, diesel down—still above last year

As of 7/10/26, AAA’s Worcester metro averages (a practical proxy for many Lancaster-area pump prices) show regular gas at $3.922/gal and diesel at $5.251/gal. Both fuels are lower than a month ago—but both are still much higher than last year.

Regular gas: up vs yesterday, down vs last week/month/year

AAA lists Worcester metro regular at $3.922 today, compared with $3.905 yesterday and $3.930 for last week. It’s also below $4.338 from last month. Still, regular is higher than last year’s $3.047 average.

Diesel: down vs yesterday/last week/last month, still up vs last year

AAA’s Worcester metro diesel average is $5.251 today, down slightly from $5.257 yesterday and $5.283 last week. Diesel is also below $5.612 from last month, but remains well above last year’s $3.838.

National context: EIA shows easing in the latest week

On the U.S. retail series, EIA reports that for the week ending 07/06/26, regular gas averaged $3.777 (down from $3.831 the prior week) and on-highway diesel averaged $4.578 (down from $4.668).

What this can mean for Lancaster commuters and local haulers

Because HUD’s Worcester metro definition includes Worcester County, AAA’s Worcester metro averages often track the region where Lancaster drivers commute and where many delivery, service, and contract vehicles route. The “down vs last month” movement can offer a small budgeting breather compared with earlier levels. But the “still up vs last year” gap remains a real pressure point—especially for vehicles that rack up miles.
