Drone Explodes in Bulgaria Near Trans-Balkan Gas Pipeline After Entering From Romania
An unidentified drone entered Bulgarian airspace from the direction of Romania and exploded on August 8 near the former Kardam border crossing, close to the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline, according to Bulgarian authorities and international reporting.
The explosion occurred approximately one kilometer from a compressor station on the pipeline, raising fresh concerns about the war in Ukraine spilling into the airspace of NATO and European Union countries.
