Atkinson’s July 10 scrap tire collection gives residents a place to clear old tires

Residents looking for a legal way to dispose of old tires will have a specific option in Atkinson. Nebraska’s Department of Water, Energy and Environment (DWEE) lists a scrap tire cleanup/collection event on July 10, 2026 at the Atkinson High School Rodeo Grounds.

DWEE’s statewide event listing describes the Atkinson collection as planned for up to 200 tons of scrap tires, funded through DWEE’s scrap tire cleanup grant program.
