Alpharettaโs 2026 city property-tax bills are arriving with a Dec. 18 payment deadline, even though Fulton Countyโs tax digest is still awaiting final certification by the Georgia Department of Revenue. The City of Alpharetta says it is issuing the bills under a Temporary Collection Order. Fulton County says the Superior Court granted its petition Aug. 4, authorizing temporary bills and collection of estimated amounts by the tax commissioner and relevant taxing jurisdictions.
The deadline is for city taxes, separate from Fulton Countyโs tax bills. The city says any required adjustment will appear on a future bill, but has not specified its amount or timing.
Eligible homeowners with a homestead exemption will see a one-time Homeowner Tax Relief Grant credit that reduces the assessed value of qualifying property by up to $18,000โnot the tax bill by that amount. Anyone who has not received a city bill by Nov. 1 can look up property and tax information online. Property owners should review their bill and follow its payment instructions by Dec. 18.
