Fair St. Clair Set to Return

Downtown Redevelopment Hinges on Parking

A proposed redevelopment project in downtown Belleville could add new commercial space and roughly two dozen condominiums, but city officials say it depends on one key piece: parking.

City leaders have been told the project would move forward only if a public parking garage is built to support both residents and surrounding businesses. Discussions are ongoing, and no final decisions have been made.

County and City Updates

St. Clair County officials continue to share updates related to court operations and building access. A new entrance is now open at the county courts complex, and residents serving jury duty today are advised to allow extra time for parking and security.

The City of Belleville also reminded residents that city offices will be closed for Presidents’ Day on Monday, February 16, while trash and landfill services will continue on a normal schedule.
