City meetings to watch next week

The city has a full slate of public meetings over the next couple of weeks, giving residents several chances to follow local decisions. A Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for Monday evening, February 9, from 6 to 7 p.m., with items expected to include development review and routine zoning matters.

Later in the week, the Parks Committee and Development and Review Committee are set to meet, followed by a City Council session on February 24. All meetings are open to the public, and the city continues to offer streaming options for those who prefer to watch from home.

Valentine’s trivia night at U.S. Pizza

For a lighter night out, a Valentine’s themed trivia event is planned at U.S. Pizza on Highway 5 on the evening of Tuesday, February 10. Hosted in partnership with the local library, the event will feature rounds focused on romance in movies, music and pop culture, with small prizes and plenty of bragging rights up for grabs.

Teams are encouraged to register ahead of time since seating is limited, and groups of friends or couples are welcome. It is a low key option for anyone looking for something fun to do close to home in the days leading up to the holiday.

Ribbon cutting for new child care center

Families will soon have another child care option on the north side of Bryant. A ribbon cutting is scheduled for Busy Bees Child Care Center on Friday, February 13, at 10:30 a.m. The center is located along Highway 5 and is being welcomed by the local chamber as one of the newest additions to the business community.

The short ceremony will be open to the public, and community members are encouraged to stop by to show support for the new small business and learn more about available child care spots.

Weekend indoor fun for kids

If you are looking to get children out of the house this weekend without battling the weather, the Central Arkansas Inflatables Indoor Park on Highway 5 offers open play hours through Sunday evening. The facility features multiple inflatables, an obstacle course and an arcade, providing an easy option for burning off energy before the school week starts again.
