Canton, OH — January 29, 2026 — A parking canopy at Oak Glen Apartments collapsed late Sunday night, damaging several vehicles. Residents reported hearing a loud bang and car alarms around 11:30 PM. Details of the Incident
According to reports, at least five vehicles were damaged by the fallen awning. Resident Logan Hysong described the moments after hearing the collapse from his apartment: “I was sitting in my living room last night at like 11:30, and I heard like a really loud bang and a car alarm,” Hysong said. “I thought it was a plow truck that slammed into like a car or something. I look out, and I see the entire thing collapsed.” He believes the heavy snowfall could be to blame. “It’s a combination of that,” Hysong said. “You can look in the posts; there’s quite a bit of rust under there.”
