On Monday, February 2, 2026, an attempted robbery occurred at a Bank of America branch in Carson. An armored truck driver was shot during the incident but sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of money. Authorities are investigating and seeking public assistance. Infrastructure Improvements in Carson
The City of Carson, in partnership with the County of Los Angeles, is in the process of forming an Enhanced Infrastructure Financing District (EIFD). This district aims to support public facilities, low and moderate-income housing, and environmental remediation projects. The EIFD encompasses approximately 1,735 acres, representing about 14% of the city’s total area. The Public Financing Authority oversees the creation of the Carson EIFD and is responsible for adopting the final Infrastructure Financing Plan.
