New Mongolian Barbecue Restaurant Coming to Citrus Heights
A new Mongolian barbecue restaurant is set to open in Citrus Heights. The eatery will occupy a 3,200-square-foot space at 7056 Sunrise Boulevard in the Copperwood Square retail center. The restaurant is expected to serve build-your-own barbecue bowls with a variety of meats, noodles, and vegetables, along with popular sides like pork potstickers, egg rolls, and crab rangoons. Remodeling of the space is underway, with plans to open in approximately six months.
Benji’s Woodfire Pizza Expands to Rancho Cordova
Benji’s Woodfire Pizza, originally established in Citrus Heights, is expanding to Rancho Cordova. The pizzeria will take over the former Pieology Pizzeria location at 2350 Sunrise Blvd in the Rivergate Shopping Center. The menu will feature wood-fired pizzas, panuozzo sandwiches, and appetizers. The expansion reflects the growing popularity of the brand, which began in 2021 and opened its first brick-and-mortar location in December 2023.
Big Lots Closes Citrus Heights Location
Big Lots has closed its Citrus Heights store located at 8525 Auburn Blvd. The company cited standard retail business practices and ongoing portfolio reviews as reasons for the closure. Customers can still visit other nearby Big Lots locations in North Highlands, Elk Grove, Carmichael, and Sacramento. The Citrus Heights location was among seven stores in California and Colorado that closed recently.
