The Community FoodBank of New Jersey and The Food Brigade held a Thanksgiving food distribution Nov. 2 at The Food Brigadeโs Passaic County Community Food Security Center in Clifton, with more than 30 local pantries slated to receive supplies for residents, News 12 reported.
The Food Brigade said the deliveries would include turkeys, hams, roaster chickens and boxes of traditional Thanksgiving side dishes. The event was held at the Clifton center for a third consecutive year, and the organization describes its Thanksgiving turkey distribution as an annual program.
The 30-plus figure counts pantries, not people or households served. News 12 did not report how many households would receive food or when each pantry would distribute it. Community FoodBank of New Jersey president and CEO Elizabeth McCarthy said food insecurity persists year-round and can feel more acute during the holidays, News 12 reported. Residents seeking supplies should check with their local pantry for distribution timing.
