Commerce, GA offices closed July 3 for Independence Day—trash pickup tips

The City of Commerce says ALL City of Commerce offices will be closed Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day. Normal hours resume Monday, July 6. The notice was posted July 2, 2026.

If you planned an in-person errand with City Hall around the holiday weekend, City guidance indicates you’ll need to shift it to next week’s regular hours.

According to the City of Commerce public notice, ALL City of Commerce offices closed on Friday, July 3. Normal hours of operation resume Monday, July 6.

Trash & recycling: Monday collection continues unless otherwise notified

For household pickup timing, the City’s waste guidance says garbage collection takes place every Monday, unless otherwise notified. Residents are asked to set bins at the curb no later than 6:00 AM on Monday.

If your garbage hasn’t been collected by Monday evening, the City instructs residents to contact City Hall at 706-335-3164 to report the issue.

The City’s guidance also says residents are provided with green roll-a-way bins for household garbage and blue roll-a-way bins for recyclables.
