Cuyahoga Falls Reschedules America 250 Fireworks for Aug. 7
Cuyahoga Falls has rescheduled its professional fireworks display from July 3 to Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, changing the date of the city’s America 250 celebration and placing the fireworks within a larger downtown program.
Mayor Don Walters announced the change July 9 as part of the city’s America 250 celebration plans. The rescheduled display is scheduled to take place during Falls Downtown Fridays, a city program centered on downtown Cuyahoga Falls.
For residents and visitors, the practical change is straightforward: the fireworks are no longer scheduled for July 3. The current city schedule places the event on Aug. 7, with downtown programming beginning at 6 p.m. and the fireworks set for 10 p.m.
What is scheduled downtown
Falls Downtown Fridays is scheduled to run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Aug. 7. The professional fireworks display is listed for 10 p.m., making it the closing point of the scheduled evening program.
The event includes programming at several downtown locations. The Downtown Plaza lineup lists Brent Kirby, followed by Marc Lee Shannon & My Other Brothers featuring Michael Webber.
Additional performances are scheduled at the Fountain Stage and Paddle Park Stage from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The locations are on Front Street, placing the performances and fireworks within the city’s downtown event area rather than treating the fireworks as a separate standalone listing.
The schedule gives attendees a defined window for the evening: performances and other Falls Downtown Fridays programming begin at 6 p.m., the additional stage performances run through 7:30 p.m., and the fireworks are scheduled for 10 p.m.
Why the rescheduling matters
The date change affects people who made plans around the original July 3 fireworks date. It also creates a new downtown event schedule for Aug. 7, with public activity planned across the Downtown Plaza, Fountain Stage and Paddle Park Stage.
Because the event is spread across downtown locations and ends with a professional fireworks display, the schedule is relevant to people planning when to arrive, where to attend programming and when the evening is expected to conclude. The city’s event information establishes the public schedule, but it does not provide an attendance estimate or a detailed traffic-closure plan for Aug. 7.
That means the confirmed planning information is currently limited to the date, times, performers and listed downtown locations. No additional traffic-management details are included in the approved city information.
What happens next
As of the city’s published information, the fireworks remain scheduled for Friday, Aug. 7, at 10 p.m. The event should be understood as a planned future program in the city schedule, not as a completed display.
The city sources also do not establish whether weather or operational issues later changed the event. Any such change would require a later city update or post-event confirmation.
For now, the next key date is Aug. 7, when Falls Downtown Fridays is scheduled downtown from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The city’s America 250 fireworks are scheduled to follow the evening programming at 10 p.m.
