Legal Action at Thornton State Beach

A judge has ordered the arrest of Luke Brugnara, who erected a fence and sign to block access to a popular path at Daly City’s Thornton State Beach. Authorities had previously arrested Brugnara for allegedly threatening to shoot trespassers near the obstruction. The sign has since been removed, and Brugnara is scheduled for a court hearing on Wednesday. Notably, Brugnara does not own the property in question.

Union Leaders Advocate for City Workers

Representatives from Local 829 and AFSCME have called on the Daly City Council to support cost-of-living adjustments and enhanced benefits for municipal employees. They highlighted that many workers earn under $70,000 annually and are facing rising living costs. The union leaders requested the council to direct management toward fair settlements and consider retroactive wage increases to retain the city’s workforce and maintain service levels.
