Denton ISD Schools Closed Due to Icy Conditions

Denton ISD officials announced that all schools and district facilities will remain closed on Friday, January 30, due to hazardous road conditions caused by Winter Storm Fern. Assessments indicated that many residential streets and secondary routes remained unsafe, posing risks for school buses and families. Some extracurricular activities may still occur as scheduled. Theatre Denton Presents ‘The Revolutionists’ Tonight

Theatre Denton is set to perform ‘The Revolutionists’ by Lauren Gunderson at 7:30 PM tonight at the Theatre Denton Annex. The play brings together historical female figures in 1793 Paris, exploring themes of violence, art, activism, and societal change. Tickets are available for purchase on the Theatre Denton website.

University of North Texas Hosts Various Events Today

The University of North Texas (UNT) is hosting several events on Saturday, January 31. Highlights include:

• Day Hike at Dinosaur Valley State Park – 9:00 AM at the Pohl Recreation Center, Outdoor Pursuits Center. Cost: $30.
• UNT Women’s Tennis vs. Northwestern State – 11:00 AM at the Waranch Tennis Complex.
