Randy Houser to headline Live at Legacy Square

The city has confirmed that country artist Randy Houser will headline a free Live at Legacy Square concert downtown on Friday, August 7, 2026.

The show will be a special Friday-night edition of the popular summer concert series at Legacy Square, which city leaders highlighted this week as a major downtown draw after last year’s record crowd for Scotty McCreery.

Highway 22 crash kills Dickinson man

State troopers say two men were killed early Thursday in a head-on collision on Highway 22 about 17 miles north of Killdeer.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a hot oil tank truck driven by a 51-year-old Dickinson man and a Volvo semi driven by a 57-year-old Watford City man collided when the southbound semi crossed the center line on a curve. Both drivers died at the scene, and only a small amount of production water was released before the highway reopened Thursday afternoon.

Angel Gowns volunteer day in Beulah

ND Angel Gowns is hosting a volunteer work day today at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Beulah, inviting people from across southwest North Dakota to help sew burial gowns for infants who die before or shortly after birth.

Organizers say the nonprofit repurposes donated wedding dresses into tiny gowns that are provided free to area hospitals and funeral homes, and note that Dickinson-area volunteers have already been an important part of the effort as the group ramps up activity this winter.

Prep sports: Mavericks pick up key wins

On the court, Dickinson High’s boys basketball team beat Minot 79–64 at home Friday night, moving to 11–5 overall and 9–4 in Western Dakota Association play.

The Mavericks girls ended a long losing streak with a 65–54 win over Minot’s JV squad, while Dickinson gymnasts claimed another all‑around victory in Minot and the boys swim and dive team picked up two dual wins at the Century Multi-Duals.
