Dunham Pool and North Fairmount Sprayground reopen July 9 (CRC update)
Cincinnati OH – Cincinnati Recreation Commission says Dunham Pool and the North Fairmount Sprayground were back to normal operations as of July 9.
Cincinnati families can reset their summer plans: the Cincinnati Recreation Commission says Dunham Pool and the North Fairmount Sprayground are “open and operating as normal” as of Thursday, July 9, 2026, after repair work and a mechanical pump issue.
What reopened after the repairs
Dunham Pool (4356 Dunham Lane, 45238): CRC reports that repair assistance from Greater Cincinnati Water Works helped resolve the issue, and that the pool is back to normal operations as of July 9.
North Fairmount Sprayground (1702 Denham Street, 45225): CRC says the mechanical pump issue was addressed by crews, and the sprayground was restored to normal operations as of July 9.
What “normal operations” looks like for spraygrounds
For families scheduling visits, CRC’s sprayground information lays out the ongoing expectations during the season:
- Sprayground season: June 6 through August 8
- Daily hours: 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Days open: Seven days a week
- Cost: Free
Why this timing can shift mid-season
CRC schedules aquatic facilities to open in phases. The commission previously outlined that the planned start was June 6, 2026, with some sites opening earlier (including select early openings starting May 30, 2026). That’s one reason disruptions can appear even during peak summer weeks.
Where to check the latest before you go
Even with a July 9 reopening, CRC’s aquatics updates can change if new repairs are needed or if weather affects operations. Before heading out, check the CRC Aquatics update page for the most current status. If something seems off when you arrive, use the CRC Aquatics contact options (phone and email) listed on that same Aquatics page.
