Winter Parking Rules in Effect

Everett residents are being reminded that winter parking rules for the 2025–2026 snow season are now active and will be enforced during snow events. Because 2026 is an even-numbered year, vehicles must park on the even-numbered side of secondary streets whenever a snow parking ban is declared.

Main arterial roads remain no-parking zones during bans, and cars left in violation may be ticketed or towed. The city continues to use automated alerts, community TV, and emergency blue lights along major roads to notify residents when bans go into effect.

Snow Removal and Safety Reminders

City crews are also asking for cooperation as winter storms continue to roll through the region. Residents are reminded not to shovel snow back into the street, a common issue that slows plowing and creates hazards for drivers and pedestrians.

Fire officials are urging property owners to clear at least three feet around fire hydrants to ensure quick access in emergencies. Using furniture or objects to reserve parking spaces is still prohibited under city ordinance.

Trash Pickup During Storms

If snowbanks block sidewalks or curb access, residents may place trash bags on top of the snowbanks for collection. This exception applies only when bins cannot be safely placed at the curb. Regular pickup resumes once streets are cleared.

What to Expect This Weekend

With winter weather remaining active across Greater Boston, city officials say parking rules and snow operations could be triggered again on short notice. Residents are encouraged to stay alert to city announcements and plan off-street parking ahead of storms.
