FDA flags undeclared tuna in Aldi kimbap sold in 20 jurisdictions
FDA says an ALDI kimbap recall for undeclared tuna can trigger serious reactions for fish-allergic shoppers.
The FDA says Gellert Global Group is recalling 8.1-ounce packages of ALDI Brand Fusia Asian Inspirations Kimchi & Tofu Kimbap because they may contain undeclared tuna, which can trigger a serious or life-threatening reaction for people with fish allergies. The alert was posted July 2, 2026, and the FDA recall index still lists it as current.
The product was distributed through select ALDI stores in 20 jurisdictions: Connecticut, Washington, D.C., Delaware, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Vermont and West Virginia. No illnesses have been reported to date.
What consumers should do
Anyone who bought the product should not eat it if they have a fish allergy. FDA says consumers should return it to the place of purchase for a full refund, and ALDI’s product recalls page also lists the July 2 notice.
The practical takeaway is simple: allergen recalls matter even when a product looks normal, because the risk comes from what is missing on the label, not from spoilage or visible contamination.
