Federal Way residents weigh in on 2026 CDBG plan after July 7 hearing
Federal Way held a public hearing on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. on the City’s draft 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Annual Action Plan. The City’s notice says the hearing was held in the Council Chambers on the second floor at City Hall, 33325 8th Ave S, Federal Way.
In the draft plan materials, the City says it expects to receive $789,015 in CDBG funds for Program Year 2026—running Jan. 1, 2026 through Dec. 31, 2026. The City also says the proposed activities would be organized around HUD national objectives, such as benefiting low- and moderate-income persons, addressing slums and blight, or meeting other community development needs with particular urgency.

Written comments: deadline and where residents sent them
The City’s notice states that written comments on the proposed 2026 CDBG Annual Action Plan and proposed projects were accepted until Monday, July 6, 2026 at 4 p.m. Comments could be forwarded to the City attn: Angelina Allen-Mpyisi at City Hall, or emailed to Angelina.Allen-Mpyisi@federalwaywa.gov.

What happens next
