Fort Bridger completes first paranormal investigation event
Fort Bridger State Historic Site completed its first paranormal investigation event Aug. 1 after a three-day run from July 30 through Aug. 1, 2026. The Fort Bridger Historical Association presented the event with paranormal investigator Marie Mason at the historic site in Fort Bridger, Wyoming.
Promoted as a nighttime investigation across the site, the event was organized as an effort to attract visitors beyond Fort Bridgerโs traditional historical programming and create additional tourism activity for nearby businesses. The property includes restored military buildings, a reconstructed trading post and an interpretive archaeological area.
The siteโs grounds are open year-round from 8 a.m. to sunset, while the reconstructed trading postโs regular season runs from May 1 through Sept. 30. The nighttime event extended programming beyond those regular daytime and seasonal offerings.
Fort Bridger already has an established tourism draw: the annual Fort Bridger Mountain Man Rendezvous has previously been described as attracting about 50,000 attendees. Attendance and revenue from the paranormal investigation have not been announced, and organizers have not announced whether the event will return or how it performed against visitation goals.
