North Side Shooting Under Investigation

An 18-year-old man was killed early Saturday morning in a shooting on the city’s North Side. Police responded around 1:30 a.m. to the 1100 block of Mediterranean Avenue, where they found the victim with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are continuing to review evidence and are asking anyone with information to contact Columbus police or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers. The case marks one of the first homicide investigations reported in Columbus for March.

Dense Fog Slows Friday Commute

Drivers across central Ohio woke up Friday to a dense fog advisory that reduced visibility to a quarter mile or less in some areas. The advisory, issued by the National Weather Service, remained in effect through mid-morning.

Officials urged commuters to slow down, use low-beam headlights and leave extra distance between vehicles. The fog created hazardous conditions during the early commute before gradually lifting later in the morning.

Arnold Classic Draws Crowds Downtown

Downtown Columbus was buzzing as the 2026 Arnold Strongman Classic took place March 6–7 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The internationally known competition brought elite athletes and thousands of spectators to the city.

The annual event continues to be one of Columbus’ largest sports attractions, boosting tourism and showcasing the city on a global stage.
