I-43 Project Begins, North Falls in Regional, City Plan Update Released
Sheboygan, WI – March 9, 2026 – I-43 construction kicks off, Sheboygan North exits regionals, and the city shares a new comprehensive plan update.
It’s a busy start to the week in Sheboygan, with road work underway, tournament action wrapping up, and a fresh look at the city’s long-range plan now available to the public.
I-43 Construction Now Underway
A monthslong rehabilitation project on Interstate 43 in Sheboygan County began this past week. Drivers can expect lane shifts and periodic slowdowns as crews work on resurfacing and structural improvements.
The project is part of a broader investment in Wisconsin’s transportation system. Commuters are encouraged to allow extra travel time, especially during peak hours, as work ramps up.
Sheboygan North’s Tournament Run Ends
In high school sports, Sheboygan North’s boys basketball season came to a close over the weekend. The Golden Raiders fell to Brookfield East in regional play, ending their postseason run.
Despite the loss, North’s appearance in the regional round marks another competitive season for the program and gives younger players valuable tournament experience heading into next year.
City Releases Comprehensive Plan Update
The City of Sheboygan has also released updated materials tied to its Comprehensive Plan. The newly posted document outlines community needs, growth priorities and long-term development strategies.
City leaders say the plan draws from recent surveys and public input sessions. Additional open houses are scheduled later this month, giving residents another opportunity to weigh in on housing, transportation, economic development and neighborhood planning.
With construction season beginning, spring sports around the corner and long-term planning in motion, Sheboygan is stepping into March with plenty on its plate.
