Jenkintown Names New Superintendent Ahead of 2026-27 School Year

Jenkintown families and staff will begin the 2026-27 school year with Dr. Brea D’Angelo as the new superintendent of the Jenkintown School District.

Those dates are not interchangeable. The July 1 date comes from the state administrator record, while July 13 is the effective date identified in the district’s announcement. Both records identify D’Angelo as Jenkintown’s superintendent.

D’Angelo’s background

Before coming to Jenkintown, D’Angelo held leadership roles in the Hatboro-Horsham School District. Her experience includes communications, special education, facilities, and broader administrative and team-building work.

That background was part of the reason the Jenkintown school board selected her, according to the district’s appointment announcement. The board cited leadership, communication, team-building, special-education, and facilities experience among the qualifications it was seeking.

Those points describe the board’s selection rationale, not completed initiatives or demonstrated results in Jenkintown. The district’s official materials do not state that D’Angelo has already changed district policy, resolved facilities concerns, or completed a specific operational project.
