Public Safety
In a recent operation, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit seized a substantial amount of illegal drugs and cash during a search in the 400 block of Ember Grove Crossing. The operation resulted in the arrest of a 39-year-old Lafayette man on multiple drug-related charges. The investigation remains active, with no additional details released at this time.
Transportation
On December 1, 2025, an overturned 18-wheeler led to the closure of I-10 West in Lafayette. The closure, from the cloverleaf (exits 103A and B) to Ambassador Caffery Parkway (exit 100), was expected to last around four hours.
