Rotary Super Bowl Squares fundraiser kicks off

The Lake Zurich Rotary Club is running its third annual Super Bowl Squares fundraiser today, tying game excitement to local and global service projects. Community members can buy spots on a 100-square board for a chance at cash prizes throughout the game.

Funds from the event support Rotary’s charitable work, from local youth and family programs to international service initiatives. Organizers stress that it is meant to be a fun, low-pressure way for residents to connect while contributing to causes beyond the big game.

Summer camp and recreation registration opens at 5 p.m.

The village’s Park and Recreation Department opens online registration for 2026 day camps and general programs to Lake Zurich residents this evening at 5 p.m. through the RecTrac system. Nonresident registration for camp begins March 2, with other programs opening later this month.

Officials encourage families to review the digital spring and summer guide ahead of time and be ready to log in right at 5 p.m., since popular camp sessions and classes often reach capacity quickly. The department is also inviting local instructors and small businesses to propose new classes as independent contractors for upcoming seasons.

District 95: Weekend dance and winter theatre on deck

Lake Zurich Community Unit School District 95 wrapped up a busy weekend highlighted by the Joanie’s Closet parent–child Valentine’s dance on Saturday evening, offering families a low-cost way to celebrate while supporting a local nonprofit that assists district students.

Looking ahead, Lake Zurich High School is preparing for its winter theatre production, with multiple performances scheduled from February 12 through February 15. The show will bring students from fine and performing arts programs together and gives residents another option for local, indoor entertainment as winter lingers.

Village budget workshop materials posted

Background materials for the village’s fiscal year 2026 budget workshop are now available online, including the full draft budget and slide presentations from the village manager and finance director. The documents outline planned investments in services, facilities and infrastructure for the coming year.

Residents who want a deeper understanding of how tax dollars are allocated are encouraged to review the materials before upcoming board meetings, when trustees will continue formal discussion and adoption of the new spending plan.
