Serious Injury in Lakewood Snow-Tubing Incident

Lakewood, CO — January 29, 2026 — A snow-tuber was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle while being pulled by a vehicle in Lakewood, TLS has learned. At around 11:45 pm last night, emergency personnel responded to a call for a pedestrian struck. Upon arrival, emergency personnel found a man with serious injuries. Sources tell TLS the tuber was attached to a vehicle, but went sliding into the opposite lane of travel and was struck by a vehicle. The injured was treated on scene and then transported to JSUMC. The driver of the tuber was charged for the illegal activity, police tell TLS. “This incident highlights how dangerous and irresponsible this type of behavior can be,” Police Chief Greg Meyer told TLS. “Towing a person behind a vehicle on a public roadway places everyone at risk and can easily result in serious injury or death. We strongly urge the public to refrain from engaging in this behavior and to use sound judgment at all times.” Lakewood’s Traffic Safety division responded to the scene for the investigation.
