Largo Police Vehicle Crash Sends Two to Hospital, Damages Power Pole

On February 3, 2026, at approximately 2:30 PM, a Largo Police vehicle was involved in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of East Bay Drive and Country Club Drive. Both the police officer and the driver of the other vehicle sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The crash also resulted in damage to a nearby power pole, leading to temporary power outages in the area. Duke Energy crews were dispatched to repair the damage and restore service.
Authorities are urging the public to avoid the area while the investigation continues. All westbound lanes of East Bay Drive are currently closed, with traffic being diverted at Alternate Keene Road. Eastbound lanes remain open.
Residents are advised to seek alternative routes to minimize delays.
