Louisville, CO — February 7, 2026 — Recovery aid updates, weekend arts events, and Monarch hockey headline a busy winter Saturday in town tonight.

Louisville Daily Brief for Saturday

Marshall Fire recovery aid shifts to single support program

Marshall Fire survivors in Louisville now have a more streamlined way to seek financial help. Boulder County and the Community Foundation have consolidated several recovery efforts into one Recovery Support Program that opened this month. The change brings together housing support, unmet needs assistance, and rebuild grants into a single application process for households still dealing with displacement, smoke damage, or rebuilding costs. Residents can apply for help with rent or mortgages, essential expenses, and property restoration tied directly to the 2021 fire.

The City of Louisville is also reminding homeowners about its own use-tax credits and rebates for rebuilding or repairing fire-damaged properties. Those programs, including credits for total loss homes, smoke and ash damage, and accessory structures like fences and sheds, currently run through the end of 2028, giving rebuilding families a longer runway to tap local support.

Art, seeds and a classic Western fill Saturday’s calendar

Downtown Louisville has a full slate of community events today. The Old Town Skate rink continues its winter season, while the library and arts community are hosting a “FIBRUARY” gallery reception during the day. Later this afternoon, gardeners and newcomers alike are invited to a community seed swap, a chance to share seeds and tips ahead of spring planting.

As the sun goes down, residents can wrap up the day with a free screening of the Sidney Poitier Western “Buck and the Preacher.” The film is part of a series of cultural programs scheduled through the city’s arts and events calendar, many of them free or low cost and geared toward all ages.

Monarch hockey skates into key home matchup

On the sports front, Monarch High School’s boys hockey team takes the ice at home this evening against Resurrection Christian, with puck drop set for 5:30 p.m. in Louisville. The Coyotes enter the weekend ranked among the top programs in Colorado’s Class 5A, climbing recently in both state and Denver-area rankings.

With only a handful of regular-season games left, tonight’s matchup is an important tune-up ahead of the stretch run and postseason seeding. Fans are encouraged to arrive early, as recent home games have drawn strong student and family crowds.

Weather and quick notes

Louisville can expect another mild winter day, with afternoon highs in the low 60s and overnight lows in the mid-30s, along with plenty of sun and light winds. Conditions should be comfortable for both outdoor skating and evening trips to local events.
