McGregor Independent School District #4’s 2026 free summer meals program for children is scheduled to continue through Aug. 26, giving local children access to a school-sponsored food service during summer break.
The program began June 3, according to the district’s official announcement. With the scheduled closing date approaching, Aug. 26 is the key deadline for families using the service or planning around its availability.
What the district announced
McGregor ISD #4 identified the program as free summer meals for kids and named the district as the sponsoring institution. The announcement covers the period from June 3 through Aug. 26, 2026.
That makes the program a direct, school-linked food-access service for local children while the regular school-year schedule is on break. The approved source packet identifies continued access to free meals as the program’s practical purpose and notes that the service has direct implications for families’ food costs and access to school-linked services.
The announcement applies to McGregor, Minnesota. The district’s official institutional information lists McGregor Public Schools at 148 South Second Street, McGregor, MN 55760.
Operational details are not included
The available district notice confirms the program dates, but it does not display meal times or serving locations. It also does not provide eligibility details in the available material.
Those omissions matter for families trying to determine when and where a meal is available, or whether a particular child qualifies. The available information does not establish that meals are served every day, nor does it identify a particular site where service occurs.
As a result, the confirmed information is limited to the program’s sponsor, purpose and scheduled dates. Families should not assume a daily schedule, a specific serving location or universal eligibility from the announcement alone.
The next known date
The next known program milestone is Aug. 26, 2026, the scheduled end date. Until then, McGregor ISD #4’s announcement documents a free summer meals program intended for children in the McGregor community.
The district’s official notice was published June 3, 2026. The available packet does not include additional information about meal counts, daily frequency, service locations, meal times or eligibility requirements.
