Medina daily: Trivia night, student theater and weekend fundraisers
Medina, OH — February 7, 2026 — Trivia night, student theater, fundraisers and library programs highlight a busy Saturday, with big city events on deck.
Good afternoon, Medina. Here is a quick look at what’s happening around town today, plus a few things to keep on your radar for the coming weeks.
Trivia night to support local history
The Medina County Historical Society is bringing back its popular Trivia Night this evening at the Medina Eagles Club on Lafayette Road. Doors open in the early evening with dinner before the questions begin, and teams of up to eight players will compete. Proceeds help the society preserve and share local history, from artifacts to educational programs.
Frozen Jr. caps a big weekend for student theater
Claggett Middle School’s drama club continues its run of Frozen Jr. on the Middle Stage at Medina High School. Performances are scheduled for both matinee and evening slots today, wrapping up on Sunday. The production showcases local students in a family friendly show, giving the community a chance to cheer on young performers and the crew that brought the musical together.
Night at the Races backs Brunswick bands
North of the Square, the Brunswick Band Parents Organization is hosting a Night at the Races fundraiser at Vell’s Event Center on Pearl Road in Medina. The event features simulated horse races, raffles, prizes and an evening buffet. Money raised will help support band students as they plan ahead for a 2027 trip, covering travel and program costs that go beyond the regular school budget.
Library digs into family history
Earlier this afternoon, the Medina Library hosted a Family History Series session focused on using digital libraries for genealogy research. The program walked residents through tools such as large online book collections and archives that can uncover records, local histories and other clues about family roots. The library continues to schedule free educational sessions for adults throughout the month.
Looking ahead: council meetings and winter fun
City Hall will be busy on Monday, with a finance committee meeting and a full City Council session scheduled in the evening at the Rotunda. Later in February, residents can look forward to Medina’s Social Connect 2026 networking event, bringing together local businesses and community members, as well as the 32nd Annual Medina Ice Festival. The festival will again fill the Square and South Town with more than one hundred ice carvings and other cold weather activities.
