Newport bond led by 2,094 votes in Nov. 4 count
Newportโs proposed $38.425 million infrastructure bond led by 2,094 votes in Lincoln Countyโs second unofficial count on Nov. 4, 2026: 2,754 yes to 660 no, according to Boiler Bay Beaconโs count report. That works out to about 4.2 yes votes for every no vote.
The figures are a dated snapshot, not a confirmed current tally. The Oregon Secretary of Stateโs results page marked results unofficial and showed 19,483 ballots counted in Lincoln County at 7 a.m. Pacific on Nov. 6, 2026. That page-wide update time alone does not establish whether Measure 21-244โs totals changed. The Nov. 4 lead does not establish passage.
The proposalโs stated purposes include repairs to critical facilities and wastewater treatment, and protection of coastal habitats and drinking water. Ballot language projected no increase in the levy rate for existing bonds, a projection rather than a guarantee. Boiler Bay Beacon reported another county count was scheduled for 5 p.m. Pacific on Nov. 6; ballots postmarked by Election Day could arrive through Nov. 10, 2026.
