Ocala Gas Falls to $3.86 While Diesel Holds Above $5.40
AAA’s July 31 Ocala averages show regular gas easing to $3.863 while diesel slipped to $5.423 but remained higher than a week earlier.
Regular gasoline and diesel both eased in AAA’s July 31, 2026, Ocala metro price check, but their broader trends differed. Regular gas averaged $3.863 per gallon, down 2.6 cents from the previous day and 10.8 cents from a week earlier. Diesel averaged $5.423 per gallon, down 2.7 cents day over day but up 8 cents from a week earlier.
Regular gas is easing, but remains above last year
The latest regular-gas average was 12.4 cents higher than a month earlier and 78 cents above the same point last year. Drivers may see some short-term relief compared with the previous day and week, but gasoline remains substantially more expensive than it was a year ago for commuters and households managing routine travel.
AAA’s figures are Ocala metro averages, not prices at every pump in the city. Individual stations can be lower or higher depending on location, competition, payment programs and when the price was last updated.
Diesel remains a larger cost pressure
Diesel’s small daily decline does not yet represent a broader retreat. The Ocala metro diesel average was 8 cents higher than a week earlier, 86.8 cents higher than a month earlier and $1.736 higher than a year ago.
That matters for contractors, agricultural operations, delivery operators, restaurants, repair companies and other service businesses that use trucks or depend on freight. Higher diesel costs can put pressure on operating budgets and may gradually affect delivery charges, service prices or the cost of supplies even when regular gasoline is moving lower.
Local station prices can vary
The 7-Eleven at 8230 SE Maricamp Road listed regular gas at $3.699 per gallon and diesel at $5.239 when its page was checked July 31. Those station-specific prices were below the Ocala metro averages, illustrating why commuters, weekend travelers and commercial drivers may find savings by comparing nearby locations before filling up.
For statewide context, the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported Florida’s weekly regular-gas average at $4.022 per gallon for the week of July 27. That is a statewide figure with a different reporting period and method, not an Ocala pump average.
Regular-gas users may get some near-term relief from the recent daily and weekly declines, while diesel users continue to face heavier costs. Share the highest and lowest pump prices you are seeing around Ocala.
