Paramount Drivers See Higher Regional Gas and Diesel Prices

Paramount drivers are facing higher fuel costs across the latest Los Angeles-Long Beach regional benchmark, with both regular gasoline and diesel up from the previous day, last week, last month and a year ago.

AAA’s July 31, 2026, price check put regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach metro at $5.707 per gallon. That regional average was 0.6 cents higher than the previous day, 6.2 cents higher than a week earlier, 26.8 cents higher than a month earlier and $1.236 higher than a year earlier.

Diesel moved higher as well

Diesel reached $7.108 per gallon in the same AAA metro reading. That was 1.8 cents higher than the prior day, 9.9 cents higher than a week earlier, 41.4 cents higher than a month earlier and $1.954 higher than a year earlier.

The diesel figure matters beyond commercial trucking. Higher diesel costs can put pressure on delivery routes, contractor and service calls, landscaping, construction work, restaurant deliveries and other businesses that depend on work vehicles or freight transportation.

Federal data provides a separate comparison

The U.S. Energy Information Administration’s July 28 release provides a separate comparison. Its July 27 Los Angeles reading showed regular gasoline at $5.447 per gallon, up 12.4 cents from the prior week. EIA also reported California diesel at $6.670 per gallon, up 19.9 cents week over week.

AAA and EIA measure different areas and use different release schedules, so the figures should not be combined into one average. AAA’s numbers cover the Los Angeles-Long Beach metro, while EIA’s gasoline number covers Los Angeles and its diesel number covers California.

What it means in Paramount

For households, the immediate effect may be greater pressure on commuting budgets, errands and weekend travel. Fuel-dependent businesses may also face higher operating costs, although any effect on local prices for meals, deliveries or services will vary by company and route.

AAA’s California table lists the Los Angeles-Long Beach metro but does not provide a separate Paramount city average. The AAA figures are therefore regional context, not a citywide price for every pump in Paramount.
